Teens

I'm here to provide compassionate support during this transformative phase of your teen's life. Adolescence can be such a rollercoaster of emotions, and as a parent, you want the best for your child. My goal is to provide a safe and nurturing space for your teenager to express themself, explore their feelings, and develop essential life skills.

With younger teens, I often meet with parents for a 50 minute session once a month (or less) depending on the needs of the teen. Some parents and teens prefer the therapy to be a resource for just the client, while others prioritize family work, which may entail parent coaching, family sessions with the teen in the room, or parent sessions without the teen. These are all things I talk with the client about beforehand.

Older teens tend to need less parental involvement and we therefore schedule family or parent sessions on an as-needed basis. Examples of when this would occur might be when the teen has something stressful to talk with the parents about, the teen wants their parents to have an overview of how therapy is going, or the teen wants an advocate in the family when new rules/boundaries/transitions are being put in place.

If you are a teen facing life challenges, I am here to help. In therapy, your confidentiality is my top priority. I understand that being a teenager comes with its fair share of challenges, and I am here to support you through it all.

From navigating social dynamics and handling peer pressure to managing anxiety, coping with depression, exploring your identity, understanding your sexuality, boosting your self-confidence, addressing substance use, self-harm, or even dealing with the overwhelming impact of social media, I would love to assist in helping you through it.

Remember, you don't have to face these issues on your own. Together, we can work through these challenges to help you thrive.
